The Waterjet drive is similar to an aircraft turbojet engine, except that it is powered by water instead of air.
The driving force is generated by adding momentum to the water by accelerating a specific flow of water towards the stern.
Water flowing out from under the vessel is fed through an inlet channel mounted on the transom, aligned with the bottom of the hull, to an internal pump (impeller) that adds pressure to the water. A movable grille is mounted on the inlet channel to protect the inlet.
